Congratulations to two of Dentistry’s trainees who recently received competitive Student Research Awards from the Canadian Association for Dental Research.

Post-doctoral Fellow Vahid Ravaghi, working under the supervision of Professor Paul Allison, was awarded First Place in the Senior - Clinical Research Category for his research project entitled “The magnitude of oral health inequalities in the Canadian population.”

Graduate student Adila Khan, working under the supervision of Professor Simon Tran, was awarded Second Place in the Junior Category for her research project entitled “16s RNA metagenomics-based survey of oral biofilms in obese children.”

Besides their prestige, these awards provide travel funds for the presentation of their research work at the annual combined conference of the Canadian (CADR) and American (AADR) Associations for Dental Research.  The Faculty of Dentistry at McGill is very proud of this achievement by two of our trainees.
