Congratulations to Sheila Goldbloom awarded the Prix Émerite 2016 by the OTSTCFQ

Sheila Goldbloom, Associate Professor, School of Social Work McGill University from 1964-1992 was recently awarded the Prix Émerite 2016 by the OTSTCFQ in recognition of her contribution to the profession and longstanding commitment to community development. Member of the Professional Order since 1965, Professor Goldbloom has been a leading member of Montreal’s social work community. Her contribution to the field has been exemplary garnering her with numerous awards and honours; the Order of Canada in 1999 and an honorary Doctor of Laws , McGill University in 2011. In addition to her work with the YMCA, the Philippe-Pinel Institute and the McGill School of Social Work, Professor Goldbloom played a key role in developing a number of community organizations, including the Foundation of Greater Montreal, Meals on Wheels and the YMCA Foundation. McGill School of Social Is proud to highlight Professor Goldbloom's contribution to social work education for generations of practitioners.
