Access to McGill University Library e-resources to cease for all ineligible McGill accounts as of January 12, 2015

Published: 5 December 2014

In July 2013, in an effort to comply with McGill University Library's licensing agreements for electronic content, the McGill Library began a process of analyzing McGill user and affiliated accounts. Members of the McGill community (i.e. faculty or staff member, medical resident or student) continue to have access to the full range of electronic databases, e-journals and other e-resources. Ineligible users (not currently a faculty or staff member, medical resident or student) were no longer given access to these services.

The Library, in partnership with campus IT, is in the final stages of completing this analysis and access verification process and as of January 12, 2015, all identified ineligible account holders will no longer be able to access electronic resources from off campus.

Access to e-resources via Web VPN for all users will also cease on January 12, 2015. Access to e-resources through the primary McGill VPN will continue for authorized users.
