2007 Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition

Published: 3 May 2007

The Faculty is pleased to report that this year's Vis moot team, comprised of Albert Chen, Martin Doe, Annie Guérard-Langlois and Rachel St. John, took home the second-place award (ex aequo with Columbia) for claimant's factum in this prestigious competition where 178 teams from 51 different countries participated.

Coached by Professor Frédéric Bachand, our team received terrific help from Bram Abramson, who was on last year's team and is now at McCarthy Tétrault. In the fall, our students benefited from the advice of Me Julie Lambert, who was then at Oslers in Montreal. Also, BCF, Fasken Martineau, Fraser Milner Casgrain, Ogilvy Renault and Oslers had generously been providing help in getting the team ready since last October. The 14th Vis moot competition took place in Vienna from March 30 to April 3, 2007.
