Media reports are full of doom and gloom about the increasing frequency of strange or extreme weather events and their effects: lack of food security, pollution, invasive species, economic recession, rising incidences of tropical diseases and superbugs, cancer and other catastrophes.

Instead of feeling overwhelmed or helpless by all this bad news, we should be asking: How can we clean up the mess we are leaving for future generations? Can my help really make a difference to leave planet Earth a better place? Is it my problem? Join environmental expert Professor Nigel Roulet, who will address these issues and answer some of the burning questions you may have.

McGill is nearing the end of its Vision2020 community consultation on the development of its sustainability strategy, so this is a great opportunity to learn how you can make a difference towards a more sustainable campus – and a more sustainable planet.

Seating is limited, so please register online as soon as possible to reserve a spot. Please bring your confirmation form to the event. You can also watch the live stream broadcast on: www.mcgill.ca/campuscommunity

NB Refreshments will not be served, nor is food allowed in the Council Room.

This event is part of a Lunch and Learn series presented by the Campus Community Committee. We are a group of faculty, staff, student and retiree volunteers who are dedicated to bringing our community together through on-campus activities, and helping Campaign McGill raise much-needed funds in support of people, places and programs across the University.
