Michael Shamos, Carnegie Mellon University. In Florida's 13th District 2006 congressional race, 15% of the electronic votes cast in Sarasota County were blank. These were cast on electronic voting machines without a paper trail. The speaker was a member of the task force that attempted to determine possible reasons for this failure.
