Green chemistry is a rapidly growing area of concern for industry, as companies grapple with increased regulatory requirements, supply constraints, and consumer demands for sustainable products. This public lecture will bring together two of the leading experts in the field to impart their knowledge and insight on the innovative potential green chemistry holds in guiding design and business decisions.

Eco-Innovation

Dr. Eric Beckman is the George M. Bevier Professor of Engineering and Co-Director of the Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation at the University of Pittsburgh’s Swanson School of Engineering. His research includes the use of CO2 as both a solvent or raw material, as well as polymer chemistry and processing.

Green Chemistry & Advanced Materials from Renewable Polymers: Education, Research, and Entrepreneurship to Motivate the Next Generation of Scientists

Dr. Robin Rogers is the Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Green Chemistry and Green Chemicals at McGill University. His ground-breaking work involves designing and developing next-generation sustainable biomaterials for use in polymeric materials, fuels, and commodity chemicals.
