David Levy is the author of a book viewed as a prime source on Fred Rose, a Communist Party member elected to the Canadian Parliament in 1943. In 1946, Rose was tried and convicted of violating the Official Secrets Act of Canada on behalf of the USSR. Upon his release from prison, Rose was driven out of the country by the Party and spent the remainder of his days in Warsaw, where he passed away in March 1983.
