As part of McGill's Community Engagement Day, the Social Economy Initiative will be holding a Social Innovators' Integration Lab Virtual Walking Tour. Insight into Montreal's local social economy scene will be presented through the lens of two McGill-led initiatives: the Social Innovators’ Integration Lab (SIIL) and the Social Economy Initiative’s Impact Internship Program (SEI-IIP).

Participants will be taken on a virtual walking tour through McGill’s Social Innovators’ Integration Lab (SIIL) Atlas -  an interactive and virtual map geographically displaying qualitative and quantitative information on social economy, social entrepreneurship, and social innovation initiatives. Social-purpose organizations and social entrepreneurs – who work closely with SIIL and McGill’s Social Economy Initiative’s Impact Internship Program (SEI-IIP) - will share and discuss what the social economy means for them and how they are making positive impacts through their work. The presentations will be followed by a panel of past student interns, McGill staff and researchers, and social economy representatives who will share their personal experiences and findings. Come learn how McGill is connecting students and researchers to local social purpose organizations in meaningful ways.
