ABSTRACT

Trusted third party digital repositories (TTPR) are designed to receive, manage, store, and provide access to clients’ electronic documents through trustworthy management to facilitate the secure exchange and transaction of electronic documents between multiple parties in an e-commerce environment. ICT economics aims to analyze economic effects of producing and using ICT products and services, and examine the relationship between ICT and economic performance.

This talk will introduce the concept of ICT economics and explore Dr. Oh’s study which estimates economic effects and CO2 emissions reduction related to using TTPR services in the banking sector. The findings of this study demonstrate that adopting TTPR is a very feasible solution to promote the secure usage of electronic documents, achieve competitive advantages, increase economic net profits, and save costs economically and environmentally.
