John B. Lyon, Dept of Germanic Languages and Literatures, University of Pittsburgh, will conduct a seminar on the work of Swiss poet and physiognomist Johann Kaspar Lavater (1741-1801). This is being held in conjunction with an exhibition on Lavater and 18th-century physiognomics using works from the collection of the Osler Library.
