Regression Refresher Workshop

Introduction

This workshop is designed for social work students who do not specialize in statistics but who need significant familiarity with the most commonly applied statistical techniques. The workshop will provide students with an introduction to several key multivariate statistical techniques. Conceptual material will be presented along with opportunities for practical hands-on analysis.

The goals of this workshop include:

(1) to provide students with greater foundational knowledge of regression analysis and other statistical techniques,

(2) to prepare students to correctly identify and apply a suitable technique for their own research,

(3) to prepare students to succeed in the mediation/moderation workshop offered by Biru Zhou.

Organization of Workshop

This two-day workshop will introduce simple linear regression, multiple linear regression, chi-square analysis, and logistic regression. The sessions will utilize a lecture format along with group exercises and independent lab time.
