Open Access Week International at McGill

Monday, October 24, 2016toSunday, October 30, 2016

“Open Access” to information – free, immediate, online access to the results of scholarly research, and the right to use and re-use those results – is transforming the way research and scientific inquiry is being conducted. It has direct and widespread implications for academia, medicine, science, industry, and for society as a whole.

This year, McGill will celebrate Open Access Week International with a series of events designed to bring awareness to newer aspects of the scholarly communication lifecycle. The 2016 theme, "Open in Action," focuses on encouraging us to take concrete steps towards realizing the goal of open research.

McGill Library will host a range of events, including workshops on copyright and publishing as well as a Wikipedia edit-a-thon.
