The Office of Sponsored Research is pleased to invite faculty members to two upcoming NSERC Discovery Grant workshops.

Getting Your Grant: Strategies for Success

McGill researchers, both new and established, who are planning to submit an NSERC Discovery Grant application this fall, are strongly encouraged to attend a series of NSERC Discovery Grant workshops organized by the Office of Sponsored Research throughout the summer.

The goal of these sessions is to provide "behind the scenes" information about the peer review committee process and activities, as well as helpful tips and "tricks of the trade" for researchers to enhance the quality of their applications. The sessions will focus on successful strategies for planning and writing a grant application, with particular emphasis on the restructured peer review system and the evaluation process. Recent competition results will also be covered.

This session will also briefly address the new NSERC Research Portal and the Common CCV, however separate workshops on these specific topics will be planned for future dates. Additional Discovery Grant sessions will also be held towards the end of summer, but please note that these would be duplicate sessions in terms of the topics to be discussed. More information on these workshops will follow at a later date once it becomes available.

Please send RSVPs for both sessions to lauren.clark [at] mcgill.ca () by Thursday, June 13th at 5:00 P.M.

For further information about this workshop please call 514-398-4880.
