Nomination for the Award for Equity & Community Building

McGill University’s Award for Equity & Community Building was approved by Senate and the Board of Governors in April 2012. This award recognizes the work of students, faculty and staff committed to advancing equity and diversity at McGill. The first competition for the award will be held in 2013, with a nomination deadline of March 15th 2013.

Within the award, there are three streams of recognition. Up to three awards may be granted per year, one in each stream.

  • McGill academic staff
  • McGill administrative and support staff
  • McGill students

The award brings with it a monetary award and an engraved plaque.

Nominees should be actively involved in promoting diversity and inclusivity within the McGill community. The nomination letter and letters of support should address ways in which the nominee has shown exceptional leadership, initiative and commitment to equity, diversity and community building.
