Evaluation and Feedback in Large Classes: Developing Engaged Citizens Through Critical Thinking
Developing Engaged Ctizens Through Critical Thinking
Professor Terry Hébert will discuss an assignment where students are asked to translate scientific articles into a format that a lay audience can understand. He argues that developing such skills is critical to becoming an engaged citizen, and will share his experience designing and evaluating this assignment.
We invite you to bring your lunch and contribute to a discussion on this topic with fellow instructors from across McGill.

The goal of the Evaluation and Feedback in Large Classes* series is to engage the McGill community in considering effective strategies for evaluating student work and providing feedback to students in large classes. The series features McGill instructors who have developed effective and creative approaches for evaluating and providing feedback, to students in their large classes and provides a forum for discussion among peers dealing with similar issues.
The series is sponsored by the Assessment in Large Classes Advisory Group. We are a group of faculty, staff and students interested in enhancing student assessment and feedback at McGill.
