Dragon boat racing is a Chinese cultural tradition that goes back 2,400 years. McGill Young Alumni of Ottawa has entered a team in the Festival for the last four years. If you want to be part of the tradition, sign up soon, because the boat fills up fast! And what is a dragon boat? It's a 39-foot-long racing canoe with a dragon's head at the bow and a tail at the stern; it holds 20 paddlers, one drummer and one steersperson. $50 (incl. test runs, coach, race, equip.)
