McGill University’s Department of Anthropology and The Canadian Research Chair in the Comparative Study in Indigenous Rights and Identity in collaboration with First Peoples’ House and Indigenous Access McGill present: A screening of Muffins for Granny, followed by a discussion with the film’s director, Nadia McLaren. In Muffins for Granny, director Nadia McLaren examines the life of her Ojibway grandmother, a life shaped by her experience in Canada’s residential school system. McLaren weaves her grandmother’s story by combining home video footage and animation with the stories of seven elders dramatically affected by their experiences in residential school. This event is open to the public.
