Everyone is welcome to this information session!
MFM is a new initiative spearheaded by the Advanced BioImaging Facility (ABIF), the Cell Imaging and Analysis Network (CIAN) and the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI) Microscopy Core that will provide public awareness, recycling, and elimination of mercury based light sources for microscopy.
The session will include:
- Introduction to the MFM initiative and the McGill Sustainability Projects Fund
- Presentation of alternatives to mercury-based illumination sources
- Scientific data comparing several illumination systems to traditional mercury based lamps
- Vendor Exhibits of currently available state-of-the-art mercury free technologies
Registration is free, but mandatory and lunch will be provided!
