Linking Action and Research on Sustainability (LARS) is a joint initiative of McGill professors Elena Bennett and Catherine Potvin and funded by the McGill Sustainability Projects Fund. Our main goal is to give visibility to McGill researchers (profs, graduate students and postdocs) working on positive contributions to sustainability. To do that, we help them create videos and we offer a series of brown bag lunches in science communication and outreach.

Blogs, digital social networks or websites: which tools should we use to disseminate the results of our research or simply make ourselves better known in the cyberspace? This one-hour workshop presented by Prof. Magda Fusaro aims to present the main "social" applications from Facebook to Twitter including personal websites while showing the pros and cons of these tools.

Magda Fusaro is a Professor in the Department of Management and Technology at UQAM. Her research focuses on the formation of social practices in connection with information and communication technologies, as well as ICT appropriation by users. She has been examining the ways in which ICTs and social practices converge for the last ten years. From January 2003 to December 2005, Magda Fusaro held the position of Assistant to the Vice-President of Academic Services and Technological Development at UQAM. She holds the UNESCO Chair in Communications and is Head of the Academic Programs in Information Technology.
