The Atlantic Council of Canada invites you to a roundtable discussion on the future of Libya, in conjunction with the Interuniversity Consortium of Arab and Middle Eastern Studies (ICAMES) and the Centre for International Peace and Security Studies (CIPSS).

Hosted by the Atlantic Council's Quebec Director Dr. BERND GOETZE, and ICAMES Director Dr. KHALID MEDANI, the roundtable will feature five distinguished speakers who will each present on an aspect of the Libyan situation before taking question from the audience.

The panel will feature McGill's Dr. REX BRYNEN, who served as a consultant to the rebel leadership in Benghazi this summer, to discuss the domestic dynamics and challenges Libya faces transitioning to democracy. Dr. IMAD MANSOUR, a professor of Middle Eastern Politics also at McGill, will examine how Libya will fit into the broader regional system. Dr. MILOUD CHENNOUFI of the Canadian Forces College will offer a critical examination of the rebel leadership, the National Transitional Council. Additionally, we will hear from the Chairman of the Canadian Libyan Council, Mr. SALHIN GHERIANI on why he believes the revolution will bring peace and prosperity to the Libyan people, and from former diplomat PAUL CHAPIN.

FREE to all McGill students, faculty, and Atlantic Council student members.
