Event Description

McGill members of the Centre of Self-Assembled Chemical Structures (CSACS) and the Agilent Molecular Spectroscopy team invites McGill researchers and graduate students to a Lunch & Learn event that focuses on the UV-Vis/NIR characterization of solid samples. The event will include discussions on technologies developed to assess the performance of materials used in the design and construction of energy efficient buildings (such as windows, solar panels, etc.). Examples include how energy is absorbed, reflected and transmitted by and through windows, which have a significant impact on the efficiency, and comfort of the newer, smarter buildings. Refreshments will be served and hands-on instrument demo included.
