Information Session: Job training and integration programs for individuals with developmental disorders
As part of McGill's Second Disability Awareness Week, Human Resources (Staffing) will be hosting an information session on job training and integration programs for individuals with developmental disorders. As part of McGill’s commitment to Employment Equity and diversity, this is an excellent opportunity for McGill to engage with diversity and inclusion.
Two organizations, Summit School and Miriam Home and Services, will be visiting McGill in order to explore potential partnerships with McGill University. Both of these organizations offer opportunities for individuals with disabilities to gain job training and opportunities to enhance their quality of life.
These are volunteer programs, and there is no remuneration offered to the participants. Participants are assessed by an educator and matched to appropriate duties to ensure a good fit. Tasks may include (among others): mail sorting, data entry, filing, and taking inventory of supplies. Onsite support is offered by the organizations, to ensure success of the partnership.
