The Hughlings Jackson Lecture is the Neuro’s premier scientific lecture and will take place this year on April 27 at 4:00 pm at the Neuro. The lecture entitled "Cortical Synaptic Plasticity: From Amblyopia to Autism" will be delivered by Mark F. Bear, Ph.D., Picower Professor of Neuroscience, Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA and Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. The Hughlings Jackson Lecture was established at the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital in 1935. It honors the legacy of British neurologist John Hughlings Jackson (1835-1911) who pioneered the development of neurology as a medical specialty.
