“INTERNATIONAL SOCIAL WORK”

A panel with Joanna Wedge and Amal Elsana-Alh’jooj, moderated by Dr. Myriam Denov.

Joanna Wedge, MSW, is an international consultant and specialist in child protection in emergencies. She is the author of Stolen Futures and Where Peace Begins.

Amal Elsana-Alh’jooj , MSW from McGill, is Director of AJEEC—the Arab Jewish Center for Equality, Empowerment and Cooperation. In 2005, she was a Candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize within the framework of the One Thousand Women submission.

Dr. Myriam Denov is an Associate Professor at the School of Social
Work. She is the author of two books including Child Soldiers: Sierra
Leone’s Revolutionary United Front (Cambridge University Press).

A light supper will be served at 5:15 pm, at a cost of $12.00 (payment
accepted at the door)..
