FRQSC’s Research Support for New Academics

The purpose of the FRQSC’s Research Support for New Academics program is to assist researchers who have just launched their careers to become established as independent researchers, and also more competitive nationally and internationally.

New researchers in social sciences and humanities, arts and literature who are planning to apply to the upcoming FRQSC fall 2017 competition are encouraged to attend this information session, which will include:

·       A brief presentation about the objectives and application requirements of the Research Support for New Academics program by Joanna Mastalerek and Maureen Donato, Grants Officers, Social Sciences and Humanities team at the Office of Sponsored Research;

·       a presentation from Prof. Michael Smith (Department of Sociology), who will share his experience as a reviewer under this program and strategies for creating a successful proposal;

·       question and answer period where participants will be encouraged to raise any questions they may have about the program or the application process. Those who are unable to attend or who may not feel comfortable sharing their questions are invited to send their inquiries to maureen [dot] donato [at] mcgill [dot] ca (Maureen Donato )(ext. 2141) or Joanna Mastalerek (ext. 7300) in advance so that they may be included in the session.
