5 Days for the Homeless is a Canadian student run charity campaign during which students collect money for a local charity supporting homeless youth by experiencing the homeless life for 5 days.
The event takes place in March. Students live as homeless for 5 days; they sleep outside on campus for 5 nights, rely on food donations, have no access to showers nor their apartment but must still attend classes.
5 Days for the Homeless helps students realise how hard being homeless really is by experiencing their life for a mere 5 days.
