Distinguished Educators Seminar Series: Cracking the code

Kathy Gould Lundy is well known for her dynamic and practical seminars on the use of creative, inclusive teaching strategies that bolster student achievement especially amongst those who are most at risk.

Kathy will share proven approaches for:

• creating respectful classroom communities where all voices including the shy, the shunned and the silent are heard
• inspiring all students to find the salient meanings in challenging texts
• motivating students to actively engage with various kinds of texts in order to speak and write about their new understandings in inclusive, respectful and creative ways

Kathleen Gould Lundy is the winner of many awards including the 2012 Association of Educational Publishers Distinguished Achievement Award for Talking to Learn. She teaches pre‐service teacher candidates at York University and at OISE and serves as a member of the Minister’s Curriculum Council, Ministry of Education, Government of Ontario. She is the author of several professional books for teachers, including Creating Caring Classrooms and Teaching Fairly in an Unfair World. She is also the author and senior series consultant for the Shakespeare On‐Line series (Oxford).
