Bre-X was a major Canadian story and scandal that still gets attention almost 20 years later. By chance the lecturer worked at the Bre-X ‘mine’ a few months before the scandal broke the headlines and earlier at the Indonesian mine of the take-over company, Freeport-McMoran. Hence a few personal memories.
