Art and science in swallowing assessment and treatment

This conference, which will focus on adult populations, will be of interest to speech-language pathologists just getting involved in the area of dysphagia, as well as to those experienced in the field. Topics include: best practice/best evidence; decisions re PO/NPO in both in- and out-patient populations; new treatment techniques; and complex case discussions. Speaker: Dr. Murray is Chief of the Audiology Speech Pathology Service for the V.A. Ann Arbor Healthcare System. His research and publications are in the area of assessment, treatment and management of patients with dysphagia. Dr. Murray is a recognized authority in his field. His book "Manual of Dysphagia Assessment in Adults" was published in 1999 and was recently translated into Japanese. He has provided numerous workshops, seminars and invited lectures in the United States, Canada and Europe. Fees: Before April 10: Regular fee $100; SLPs who supervised a McGill student during 2006 and/or 2007: $50. After April 10: Regular fee $130; SLPs who supervised a McGill student during 2006 and/or 2007: $65. Student fee: $20.
