Are the Sustainable Development Goals Realistic?

Tuesday, October 4, 2016 18:00to19:00
Concordia University, Hall Building, 1455 de Maisonneuve W, Room H-762

Special presentation by Visiting Scholar Stewart Wallis.

The former director of New Economics Foundation and Oxfam argues that the Sustainable Development Goals are an important and welcome achievement. However, 17 Goals and 169 Associated Targets are too many, too complex and fail to prioritize the key actions needed to address the trade-offs between the Goals. Stewart insists that a New Economic System is needed and outlines the key Goals of this New System.

Sponsored by the Economics for the Anthropocene (E4A) Project, McGill University and the Department of Geography, Concordia University.
