Marc Grisaru, Professor Emeritus of Physics, Brandeis University, Boston, and Adjunct Professor of Physics, McGill. His research interests are in theoretical particle physics and string theory. In recent times, string theory has been proposed as a promising explanation of the workings of the physical world at its most fundamental level. This talk will attempt, in a totally non-technical manner, to describe what string theory is all about.
