The Alumni Association of Nova Scotia presents "Cocktails on a Navy Frigate"
The McGill Alumni Association of Halifax cordially invites
graduates, family and friends to a cocktail reception with
Christopher Manfredi, Dean of Arts, McGill University.
Join one of North America’s leading political thinkers for a casual
evening of cocktails and conversation aboard a Navy frigate.
Professor Manfredi will be dropping in on McGill alumni living in
the Halifax area, and you have the opportunity to meet with him
while he’s in town. Don’t miss your chance to get the inside scoop
on McGill’s largest and most diverse faculty from the man at its
helm.
Christopher Manfredi is an authority on the role of the judiciary
in democratic societies, especially the Supreme Court, principally
in Canada and the United States. His research focuses on the
political and policy impact of rights litigation.
The McGill Alumni Association would like to extend a special thank
you to Commander (Retired) Gregory M. Aikins, BA’80, for his time
and effort in planning this event. We would also like to thank the
Canadian Navy for allowing us to use their ship.
Commander (Ret’d) Aikins spent most of his career as a naval
officer, commanding two Canadian Navy frigates along the way. After
retiring almost six years ago, he became the Senior Managing
Partner of Intellection Consulting Inc., a company primarily
concerned with project management and maritime security.
