Friday, December 2, 2016 16:00to18:00

screen-shot-2016-11-28-at-2-27-47-pmCellphilms are videos filmed using a cellphone camera often with limited to no editing required, and are typically made with a specific purpose in mind, such as capturing something newsworthy, addressing a specific problem in a community or using it to teach a particular topic. This filmmaking method is being used by educators, researchers and community activists to encourage individuals and communities with or without previous filmmaking experience and limited access to video equipment to explore social and individual challenges and build community autonomy.

The 4th International Cellphilm Festival (in Montreal, Canada) on December 2nd, 2016  will celebrate the contributions and insights of students, community activists, and research participants, using this mobile medium in hopes of further developing this method and their creativity. The 4th International Cellphilm Festival Theme is:“Exploring Consent: Bodies, Lands, & Media.”
