3rd Student Colloquium on Health and Law: Reproductive Justice in Pluralistic Societies

The McGill Journal of Law and Health and the McGill Journal of Medicine are pleased to announce that the McGill Student Colloquium on Health and Law: Reproductive Justice in Pluralistic Societies.

This year's topics include assisted reproduction, in-vitro technology, the rights of Inuit women to birth in their own communities, the politics of midwifery movements in Quebec and Ontario, and sexual health education initiatives.

Speakers for this event include Ms. Jessica Yee (founder and Executive Director of the Native Youth Sexual Health Network), Dr. Raywat Deonandan (epidemiologist and former Interim Chief Scientific Advisor to the Canadian federal government on the topic of Assisted Human Reproduction), Mrs. Sinclair Harris (Quebec midwife who has served for 10 years on the board of directors of the Canadian Association of Midwives), Prof. Abby Lippman (Professor in the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health at McGill and President of the Canadian Women's Health Network), Prof. Stephanie Paterson (Professor in the Department of Political Science at Concordia) and Prof. Katherine K. Young (Professor in the Faculty of Religious Studies at McGill).

This event is geared towards active student engagement. Facilitated, small group discussions will allow participants to debate some of the day's talks with their peers in a more intimate setting.

Registration is 5$. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
