UPDATE: Freezing rain warning

Published: 15 April 2018

UPDATE:

(Monday, April 16, 6:30 am) While weather conditions are difficult this morning, it appears Montreal has been spared the kind of situations that affected Ontario. McGill will remain open today, with classes continuing as scheduled. Public transit is operating more or less as normal, and the Macdonald Campus shuttle bus should be up and running soon. Roadways on both campuses are in good shape. However, we note that major school boards in the Montreal area are closed for the day and we understand the problems this causes for our employees and students who are parents. If you have to stay home, please check with your supervisor to see if you should work from home or take a personal day. We also ask that professors exercise flexibility in terms of student absences. Above all, be safe, and if conditions in your area are not suitable for travel, stay home.

(Sunday, 8:15 pm) Environment Canada has issued a Freezing Rain Warning for Montreal and vicinity for tonight (April 15) and Monday, April 16, especially in the morning. We will be monitoring the effects of this storm closely and will determine very early tomorrow whether classes scheduled for Monday will be affected. We will notify all staff and students by email, as well as through our social media channels and www.mcgill.ca by 6:30 a.m. Monday morning regarding the status of classes, as well as the Macdonald Campus shuttle bus.

Please stay tuned.
