The Institute of Parasitology invites you to a special seminar by Dr. Maria Adelaida Gómez, Centro Internacional de Entrenamiento e Investigaciones Médicas, Colombia.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Dr. Maria Adelaida Gómez obtained her PhD degree in Microbiology and Immunology at McGill University and conducted postdoctoral training in CIDEIM, Colombia in human leishmaniasis.  She is currently the Coordinator of the Molecular Biology and Biochemistry Unit at CIDEIM. Through inquiry of the Leishmania-host interactions, her current research aims to understand the molecular basis of antileishmanial treatment response in patients with cutaneous leishmaniasis,  towards identification of biomarkers of outcome and host-directed interventions for optimization of antileishmanial therapy.
