IT Services has introduced a new "uPrint Prepaid Guest Card" to be used by faculties or departments who wish to provide their casual staff or visitors with a prepaid card for the uPrint service. They are available in fixed amounts of $30 and $50 (tax included).

Issues have been reported with uPrint, the campus-wide printing service. Some users will get a server error when attempting to send or release print jobs.
IT Services is working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

It has been reported over the last few months that scanning documents on Xerox machines may generate PDF documents where numbers may be incorrectly transferred from the original document. After testing, it appears that the issue is not affecting the uPrint machines installed at McGill, as these machines are set up differently than on the machines where the problem was discovered. However, as a precautionary measure, we have asked Xerox to install a patch on all campus uPrint machines in order to prevent this problem from occurring.
uPrint popup to accept McGill Username & print jobs to stay in the queue for 72 hrs as of Monday, June 3
As of Monday, June 3rd, at 6:00am, the popup that you see when printing to the uPrint Mono [Popup] or uPrint Colour [Popup] queue will now once again let users enter their McGill Username. You'll still be able to enter your McGill Short Username, but now you can enter the credential you prefer to use, meaning less chance for spelling errors that prevent your print job from reaching the queue.
The uPrint service will be unavailable due to an upgrade lasting approximately 9 hours, starting on Friday, May 3 at 9pm and ending on Saturday, May 4 at 6am. Any print jobs submitted before the service shut down will stay in the queue for a period of 48 hours and will be available for printing once the system is back up.
