Montreal native Maxime Beaumont-Courteau, a third-year medical student at McGill, broke a school record to highlight the McGill Open II, a track and field held at Richard Tomlinson Fieldhouse, Friday.
McGill's Melanie Myrand of Pointe Claire, Que., won a bronze medal at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational, a two-day event billed as America's biggest indoor collegiate track & field meet. The McGill women's 4x800 relay had the best performance of the weekend, posting the third fastest time produced by a CIS quartet this season.
McGill teammates Hank Palmer and Justin Darlington each set school records to highlight the 15th annual McGill Team Challenge track and field meet, a two-day competition held before 400 fans crammed into Richard Tomlinson Fieldhouse over the weekend.
