Brianna Miller of the McGill Martlets has been voted rookie of the year in the Quebec University Rugby League. The 19-year-old physical and health education freshman from Pte. Claire, Que., was one of three McGill players named to the QURL all-star team, along with eight-man Mandy Mongeon of Ile Bizard, Que., and fullback Briana Yerbury of Montreal.

The result clinched third-place for McGill in the six-team conference.
A 23-point performance by Brianna Miller of Pte. Claire, Que., led the McGill Martlets to a 65-0 win over Bishop's in Quebec University Rugby League action at Coulter Field, Wednesday. The freshman fullback scored three tries and added four conversions as the Martlets evened their record at 2-2 and moved into a three-way tie for third place with a pair of games remaining before playoffs.
The McGill women's cross-country running team have joined the Martlets soccer squad in the weekly Blackberry-CIS Top 10 rankings of the season.
