Hubert Morin of the McGill men's hockey team, has been named male athlete of the week by the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec, for the period ending Feb. 19, 2012. It marks the 10th time in 20 weeks that a McGill nomination has won the RSEQ weekly award this season.

The McGill Redmen, who swept Queen's in the opening round of the playoffs last week, remain No.2 in the CIS national Top 10 rankings this week.

Maxime Langelier-Parent of Lery, Que., scored once and added two helpers as the visiting McGill men's hockey team, ranked No.2 in the nation, coasted to a 5-1 victory over Queen's at the Kingston Memorial Centre, Friday. The result, combined with Wednesday's 3-2 win, gave McGill a two-game sweep in their OUA East best-of-three quarter-final series.

Benoit Levesque, a sophomore from Vaudreuil, Que., capped a three-goal rally with the eventual game-winner at 6:43 of the second period as the No.2-ranked McGill men's hockey team skated to a 3-2 victory over Queen's in the opening game of the OUA East quarter-finals at McConnell Arena, Wednesday.

The McGill University men's hockey team will begin defence of their Queen's Cup league championship on Wednesday when they confront Queen's in a post-season playoff series for only the third time in school history.

For the 12th time in 14 media polls, the McGill Redmen are the No.2ranked-ranked team in CIS men's hockey.
