Gaiters rally ruins Redmen party

Quarterback Jordan Heather, a senior from Oromocto, N.B., passed for 324 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Bishop's rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit to defeat McGill 23-18 in CIS football before 1,942 at Percival Molson Stadium, Friday.

McGill kicker Anderson among top prospects for 2012 CFL draft

Austin Anderson, a place-kicker with the McGill University Redmen, has been ranked among the top prospects for the 2012 CFL Canadian Draft. The CFL's Scouting Bureau published Monday its initial Top 15 list of the season. Anderson, the son of former NFL star kicker Gary Anderson, is currently ranked 12th and is among a group of nine CIS players to make the grade.

Axemen chop down Redmen in Wolfville

Taylor Renaud caught five passes for 125 yards and one touchdown as the Acadia Axemen defeated McGill 38-9 at Raymond Field, Saturday. Acadia improved to 2-0, while the Redmen dropped to 0-3.

To no one's surprise, the Laval Rouge et Or (2-0) stay on top of the FRC-CIS Football Top 10 poll for the third consecutive week after a 24-14 win over Montreal (1-1) in front of 16,046 in Quebec City. Despite the setback, Montreal remains at No. 6 in the rankings.

Sherbrooke rallies to upend Redmen in gridiron home opener

Jeremi Doyon-Roch passed for 362 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Sherbrooke rallied for a 39-13 victory over McGill in Quebec university football action before 3,145 at Percival Molson Stadium, Friday. It marked McGill third largest home-opening crowd dating back to 1995.

Friday Night Football back on campus as Redmen host Sherbrooke in opener

Quarterback Dallon Kuprowski, an 18-year-old freshman from Ottawa, is expected to start for the second straight outing when his McGill Redmen host the Sherbrooke Vert & Or in a “Friday Night Football” home-opener at Percival Molson Stadium on Sept. 9. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
