Such issues include same-sex marriage, abortion, engaging in armed conflict, and access to health care. Margaret Somerville, Samuel Gale Professor of Law and founding director, Centre for Medicine, Ethics and Law, McGill, will explore how manipulation of these issues by politicians and the media can influence voting decisions and leave "middle ground" voters with no clear choice of whom to vote for.
