Teaching tips for effective science lectures

Thu, 2007-09-27 16:30 - 18:00
Redpath Museum : 859 rue Sherbrooke Ouest Montreal Quebec Canada , H3A 0C4

For Science graduate students: Do you want to be a more effective teacher? Learn concrete strategies to engage students and increase learning. We'll demonstrate simple teaching strategies, using science content, that can be incorporated into lectures to improve student learning and discuss some key aspects to planning a seminar or conference session. Presentation includes a demo of the new "clickers" (Student Response Systems) used in some first-year Faculty of Science courses. This seminar focuses on techniques for lecturing and is independent from the 2-day T-PULSE graduate teaching workshop. Followed by wine and cheese. Please RSVP at website below.
