Congratulations to Prof. Niky Kamran (Department of Mathematics and Statistics) for receiving the 2014 CRM-Fields-PIMS Prize, Canada's premier prize in mathematics. Professor Kamran's achievements lie in the areas of analysis and differential geometry. The prize citation highlights both his work on the topic of exterior differential systems and his contributions to the mathematical analysis of the Einstein equations of general relativity.

With the generous support of the Richard and Edith Strauss Foundation, Montreal-based research groups announce the formation of the Montreal Cochlear Implant Research Network. The network currently comprises the Department of Otolaryngology at McGill, the Centre for Research on Brain, Language and Music (CRBLM) at McGill, the Centre de Recherche en Neuropsychologie et Cognition (CERNEC) at Université de Montréal, and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation of Greater Montreal (CRIR).
At the November 20, 2013 bargaining session, the parties discussed the university’s presentation on weekend operations in dining services, which includes the evolution of the financial situation in that unit over the last four years.
Following the union’s request to better understand the fluctuating number of service calls for building operators, on November 21, 2013, the university submitted data to the union on the number of calls received during each hour of the day.

The Committee is inviting submission of papers that, among other things, will discuss and critically analyze the current socio-political, strategic and legal challenges to the achievement of good global space governance and, as well, propose viable policy options and regulatory mechanisms that will help ensure that present generations of humanity can continue their exploration and use of outer space without seriously compromising the possibility for future generations to do the same.
