Biological evolution is a scientific fact and the fundamental concept of all life sciences, yet national polls indicate that 50% of Canadians and Americans reject evolutionary science. The cause appears to be a synergism of religious illiteracy, powerful North American anti-evolution forces, scientific illiteracy in general, and evolution misunderstanding in particular.
