Have you always wanted to know what's below the surface of the water? Here's your chance - experience breathing underwater with the Ottawa Beaver Scuba Club and the Young McGill Alumni of Ottawa. Just bring a towel and bathing suit; the Beavers will provide the rest of the equipment and qualified instructors for a safe learning environment. The fun starts with a short presentation on the subject, followed by a pool session.

The Museum of Civilization was the leading vote-getter in our first interactive event.The '60s exhibit is the main show currently. We'll meet at the museum on April 17 (please note the new date!), will tour the exhibit and then go for brunch at the Museum Café. Anyone interested in continuing to tour the permanent exhibits can do so after brunch at their leisure.

National Capital Dragon Boat Race Festival

Dragon boat racing is a Chinese cultural tradition that goes back 2,400 years. McGill Young Alumni of Ottawa has entered a team in the Festival for the last four years. If you want to be part of the tradition, sign up soon, because the boat fills up fast! And what is a dragon boat? It's a 39-foot-long racing canoe with a dragon's head at the bow and a tail at the stern; it holds 20 paddlers, one drummer and one steersperson.
