Two one-act operas by two French masters. "La Voix Humaine" (Poulenc) was turned by Jean Cocteau into a film starring Ingrid Bergman, but is originally a dramatic tour de force for soprano. "Le Portrait de Manon" (Massenet) is a delicate piece about the restoration of lost hearts. Hors d'oeuvres and pre-show lecture at 7:00 pm, opera at 8:00 pm. RSVP as soon as possible.
