It was nearing eleven and the late September sun was beating down on the rolling cornfields surrounding the quiet town of Saint-Anne-de-Bellevue as I toured the MacDonald Student Run-Ecological Gardens (MSEG). On the two-acre plot of land situated on McGill University’s MacDonald Campus Farm, a small but passionate team of student farmers is growing over sixty different crop species.

Congratulations to Professor Mary Ellen Macdonald for being selected as Associate Editor for qualitative research of the Canadian Journal of Public Health. As Associate Editor she will focus on continuing to build the presence of theoretically‐informed qualitative research on public health issues at CJPH.
Dr. Earl Karanofsky is passionate about teaching! Whether it be in the clinic, on faculty committees, at fundraising events, he always takes the time to be involved and is very deserving of this year’s Dr. Ralph Silverstone Award. The award recognizes his outstanding contribution to the undergraduate teaching program.
Dr. Jocelyne Feine was recently selected as the inaugural Editor of the IADR/AADR JDR Clinical & Translational Research. Dr. Feine is a Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry at McGill University in the Division of Oral Health and Society.

The term rape culture is now commonplace in the news. What does it denote, how pervasive is it, and what should be done? To discuss the topic on video are McGill professors Shaheen Shariff, an internationally recognized expert on sexting and cyber-bullying in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education; Carrie Rentchler, former Director of the McGill Institute for Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies; and Bianca Tétrault, the Harm Reduction Officer in the Office of the Dean of Students at McGill.
