Students holding NSERC or CIHR Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA) participated in laboratory research during the summer. On September 11, 13 and 18, the Office of the Associate Dean Research, Macdonald Campus, is organizing seminar events to promote and expose the research activities of these students and have them share their research experience with other undergraduates. The USRA awardees will deliver a 10-minute presentation highlighting their summer research and results. Seminar schedules are available on the Macdonald Research Office web page.

Michael Shamos, Carnegie Mellon University. In Florida's 13th District 2006 congressional race, 15% of the electronic votes cast in Sarasota County were blank. These were cast on electronic voting machines without a paper trail. The speaker was a member of the task force that attempted to determine possible reasons for this failure. Part of the School of Computer Science Colloquium.
